The Bisel Farmyard Reunion!

We had a great time putting together the Bisel family reunion this year. Our theme that we came up with was farmyard. Most of the games that I came up with was from scout activity ideas; i just put a different theme to it. Our games started out by dividing into teams. I call it barnyard broke loose. Everyone is shown a card that has an animal on it and they are to make that noise of the animal at the same time as everyone else is as they try to group their herd together. It was the funniest thing to listen to. oh the teams that we had were the donkeys, cows, horses, pigs, sheep, and chickens. During the games the teams were to cheer their members on by making that animal noise. The games that we played were:
goat milking- one team member holds the goat(rubber glove filled with water) another holds the pail whild the third team mate milks the goat.
Sheep shearing- one member of the team holds the sheep(balloon that has shaving cream on it) while the other team mate shaves the balloon, be careful not to kill(pop) your sheep.
Greased pig contest- The team member has to get the greased pig(greased watermelon) out of the water(in the kiddy pool) the fastest.
Sheep herding- use a fly swatter to herd your sheep(white balloon) to the cone and back (watch out as sudden movements can kill your sheep).
Seed spitting contest- see who can spit the sunflower seed the farthest.
Toss the pig- toss your pig(pink waterballoon) to your team mates.
Pig out- eat your pie with your hand behind your back you have 2 min. (stephen even did this one, he did a great job!)
potato sack race- race in the bag to the cone and back.

It was a lot of fun! I didn't get many pics because I was in charge running around explaining everything but i did get pics of the pig out! it was great!






Later that day we did a hay stack treasure hunt for the kids where they were able to find coins to buy stuff at our farmyard store. Oh i almost forgot, all day saturday my donkey,Pete(don't worry it was a blowup animal), was set out to have everyone determine his weight. 1 oz = 100 Lbs. This was fun to see what people put down.





I definitely can't do a post without a picture of Bandit! With the hot weather we decided to buy Bandit a swimming pool. He loves it! Bandit is always going in there to cool himself off. His friends Spur, Hunter(Jim and Shurron's dogs), and Katie (Kecia and Justin's dog) like to take a swim when they are visiting as well. I have to say Katie literally divers and swims in the pool. It is so funny!
